The recently held School-Based School Press Conference at Sun Valley Elementary School was more than just a training ground—it was a celebration of young voices, talent, and the power of journalism. With pride and purpose, we welcomed Ma’am Karen Remudo from Sun Valley National High School, a dedicated mentor of “Ang Sinag”, whose years of experience and excellence in training young journalists have left an inspiring legacy. Alongside her, former Ang Sinag journalists Bianca Nicole Cosa and Rhian Danica S. Bautista generously shared their insights, techniques, and passion for campus journalism.
Their stories, techniques, and tips served not only as lessons, but as a spark of inspiration for our budding writers, helping them realize the power of their voice and the value of truth in media. The workshop sessions were followed by an individual contest per category—an exciting step as we prepare for the Division Schools Press Conference this coming September.
A heartfelt thank you to our ever-supportive School Head, Dr. Virgie Ramos for always standing behind and believing in the vision of campus journalism. Your presence and encouragement mean so much to our young writers and the entire team.
Thank you also for providing food and support for our hardworking young journalists—your care reminds them that they are truly valued.
To our dedicated SPA Advisers and Trainers, we deeply appreciate your unwavering guidance, patience, and perseverance. You play a vital role in shaping our future journalists. Your passion and commitment continue to inspire our learners to write with purpose, courage, and integrity.
We salute all participants for their courage and commitment, and we encourage them to keep writing, keep asking, and keep telling stories that matter. The journey doesn’t end here—it begins with your pen and your purpose.
